"Sol Sundays" is a collaborative weekly event series orchestrated and curated by community organizations, Art.Music.People (AMP) and DAWNE. It takes places place Von King Park in Bedford Stuyvesant, and encourages wellness and black joy through action and activities. Past action items included a care package/bag drive for unhoused black women, community cleanup, and back to school supply drive and giveaway. Activities in the park included double dutch, yoga, meditation, and hair braiding. For this last Sunday in August we will be screening "Black Is King and presuming the aforementioned activities. The last event will take place on August 30 from 2-10PM at Von King Park, and yoga and meditation will be led by our instructors Katherine and Diamond, and free hair braiding (limited simplistic styling) will be done by licensed cosmetologist Nia Coombs.
